Student Graphic Design Work

As a teacher of graphic design since 2009, I’ve been working with students in grades 9-12 to learn the basics of graphic design in a project-based curriculum, teaching them about color theory, composition, typography, and all aspects of graphic design. Since 2017 I have been teaching graphic design in a CTE environment (Career Technical Education), with a focus on not just design theory but the vocational aspects of the industry. Students study in our four year program, learning the Adobe Creative suite and getting professionally certified in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign before graduating. Throughout the program, the ultimate goal is for students to create a portfolio of work that will lead them on a path towards a bachelors or associates degree or to seek employment upon graduation.
